Growing up helping his father on repair jobs, always lending a hand with the tools, Scott Herceg started working in a cabinet shop right out of high school, in 1977. He worked there during the day as an apprentice to a cabinetmaker who took Scott under his wing. At the same time, he was attending and graduating from night school “to make mom happy.” But he knew all along that the cabinetry and renovation business was where his passion lies. He worked his way up to foreman at the shop, also learning to build cabinetry and custom-made furniture. Then in 1993, he founded Kitchen Design Center with a commitment to top quality craftsmanship and customer service. Building a loyal team around him, Scott is still the one who goes to homes and meets the clients face-to-face. When spreading the word to others about their experience with KDC, past clients mention that low-key, personalized, no-pressure service—with more listening than speaking—always comes first with KDC.
Not many company owners got their start in the business 45 years ago and can assemble cabinets themselves. Scott Herceg and his team know the ins and outs of any job. Before the first measurement is taken, he sits down with the client in their home and listens to their wants, needs and preferences. Then he invites them into the showroom to go over samples. Scott takes his time throughout the process, never putting pressure on people. Once they get to selecting cabinets, countertops and flooring, he says he can meet or beat other companies, including the big box stores

Since 1993, our clients have put their trust in us and we’ve delivered a phenomenal experience. It all begins with listening, and us taking the time to find out what homeowners really want in their new dream space.

MEET & DISCUSS
Scott goes to each job himself. During this free consultation, he sits down with the client and listens to their goals for a renovation. He takes measurements and photos of the space to be transformed.

CHOOSE
While at our store, the client looks through our showrooms to view samples and make their material selections.

DESIGN
Scott puts together different price points and options for the renovation and emails the estimate to the client.

ORDER
Scott converts the proposal with final pricing into a contract and the client puts a payment down. Financing options are available as well, so people don’t have to wait for their renovation. Once finalized Scott will order all the materials for the job.

VISIT
The client will them come into the showroom to take a look at countertops, cabinetry and hardware.

BUILD
Working together, client and Scott come up with a realistic timeline of work. He does his homework, researching the industry to find providers who can deliver cabinetry on a faster lead time than most home renovation companies. Every step is taken to make sure the job runs smoothly, on-time and on-budget. After the job, he follows up with each client to make sure they are happy with the renovation.
